
Oxyfuel Welding (Autogenous Welding)
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Manual autogenous welding is one of the oldest joining processes. The metal to be joined is heated to melting point in the joining area using a fuel gas/oxygen flame. The addition of a welding filler material (welding wire) fuses the components to be joined and a material bond is formed. This process is still popular in construction and maintenance.
MESSER SOLUTION
Fuel gas and oxygen is used to form the welding flame. Acetylene is mainly used as fuel gas.
