Arc Brazing

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

Metal shielding gas soldering is similar to MAG welding. An endless wire electrode, the solder, is fed to the arc by a wire conveyor and melted under a shielding gas jacket. The shielding gases have different properties depending on their composition, and therefore different effects on the solder result. A correct choice of the parameters - current, voltage, wire feed - prevents melting of the surfaces of the components to be joined.  A joint, similar to that created with flame soldering, is created. MESSER SOLUTION

Messer supplies shielding gases for MSG soldering. These are often inert gases such as argon and helium or mixtures. Furthermore, there are applications with low levels of active gases

Advantages

  • High process safety
  • Improved soldered joint quality
  • Very good joint strength
  • Very good corrosion resistance
  • Less delay
