Montage

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

During Montage, the individual sections are welded to the ship or to the hull. Many welds are usually very long here, so mechanised or automated welding processes are often used. Typical processes are arc welding processes such as GMA welding or the special process of electro-gas welding. However, pipelines and shafts must also be connected. For this purpose, arc welding methods are usually used. Inaccuracies in fit, caused for example by warping, are corrected with flame straightening. Additional cutting work often involves the use of flame cutting.
