Competence Centre
Messer's company policy is not only to supply customers with gases, but also to provide them with technical and technological support so that our gases can be used simply and successfully. To this end, Messer's central technology department provides know-how and application specific hardware and continuously and works on further hardware optimisations in our competence centres.
Our competence centres are to be found in Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and China, and focus entirely on innovations for different industries.
For the water treatment industry, for example, injection hardware for liquid CO2 is being developed and tested at the technical centre in Mitri Mori near Paris. As of January 2018, all our testing facilities for hardware which introduces, disperses and dissolves oxygen or CO2 in aqueous media will be merged in the new technical centre in Krefeld. These test facilities will be used to further develop our broad portfolio of injection and dissolution technologies as well as to test proposals from customers. Furthermore, in Krefeld a very well-equipped hardware pool with dosing panels and injection hardware for large-scale customer trials, as well as various measuring devices and laboratory ozone trial systems are tested, prepared and kept available for use by customers.
In addition to the technical centre infrastructure, Messer maintains networks and collaborations with universities, institutes and trade associations that enable experts to exchange know how and to participate in joint research and development activities. Messer currently holds around 900 patents worldwide for processes and applications in which gases are used to optimise production methods.
